Online Monitoring Service

Walsall Curriculum team is developing and extending it’s service in order to give schools the support needed to meet the requirements outlined in Keeping children safe in Education published by the DFE in September 2016 and Prevent guidance. This service will provide your school with the necessary information about computing behaviours to support learners in your care.

How does it work?

The Online Monitoring service will monitor and capture any incidents that occur on your school network using Future’s Cloud software. The captures are then monitored by trained staff to ensure the safeguarding of both staff and pupils. The risk of the incidents are assessed by an online safety professional before being graded and then reported to school as necessary. We will report both low level and more serious incidents to schools.

Reporting Captures

If any captures/incidents showing grade 2 or above are detected, Walsall Online Monitoring Service will then flag this to your school with an explanation as to why alongside a recommendation of what action to take. If support is required in dealing with the situation you can then get in contact with our E-safety advisor.

This will show you are committed to the safeguarding responsibilities that are required by Ofsted. As part of the service provided by the Walsall curriculum team, you will receive personalised alert reports to bring to your attention incidents in school, alongside a weekly summary report.
